Hurricane season begins on June 1 and extends to Nov. 30. As evidenced by storms such as Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and recent rain events, major weather systems can be very unpredictable. That is why it is critical to be prepared for severe weather emergencies.
A University of Houston System announcement was distributed Sunday, May 26 with news from Texas' 86th Legislative Session. The session concluded yesterday, and I am pleased to report that the University of Houston-Downtown is among the state universities receiving an increase in funding for the next biennium, as well as the support of the legislature in several other key requests.
The spring semester has concluded, and this weekend we celebrated the accomplishments of 1,400 Gators who Finished UHD Strong.
