Dear UHD Community,
It has been a difficult weekend following Hurricane Harvey. Houston is still being drenched by substantial rain. These showers are expected to continue for the next few days, so Houston and outlying communities remain at risk.
I know many of you are affected by flooding, but I hope that you and your families are safe. My thoughts are with all of you during this challenging time, and my hopes are for a swift recovery from this disaster.
As you are aware, UHD will be closed through Aug. 30, and we are monitoring weather conditions to determine when it is safe to return to campus. Updates will be provided as soon as they are available. Continue to check the UHD home page and social media (Facebook, Twitter) for updates.
Until we return to campus, I again advise that you remain informed regarding developing weather patterns, road conditions, and possible flooding.
Stay safe, Gators.
Dr. Juan Sánchez Muñoz, UHD President
